Drop in and Draw
Local artists are invited to drop in and draw, paint or sketch our magnificent statuette of Hercules. Well-known local artist, Lesley Longworth, will be available to offer guidance as needed. Limited materials will be provided or bring your own.
Hercules began life atop a large beam steam engine in Bitham Mill. When the mill closed in 1969, the mill’s maintenance engineer, Jack Ingram, rescued him and took him home to live in Station Road, Westbury. After Jack’s death, his daughter donated him to the museum and in 2017 Hercules was repaired in one of the first editions of the BBC’s Repair Shop
There are two sessions – 10 – 11 am and 11.15 – 12.15 pm and there are only 10 spaces available for each session so although the sessions are free, you must book a ticket. Go to the Westbury Festival website to book.
Refreshments included.
